House in Hawthorne Hills

my room

Mom in Seattle is selling our house, now that we have all flown the coop and the continent as well. It makes me sad to think that when I go back to Seattle I won't have the house to come back to. It saw me through 12 to 24, which was, I now realize, half of my life!

Lots of good times in that house...

ah, what a beautiful bedroom! My parents split up when I was sixteen, and with the divorce went the house I remember best from my childhood. I don't especially miss that house, but I do miss the feeling of coming home to a familiar place, to my own room. I never lived in my mother's post-divorce house, and the house my dad and my stepmom live in now they bought about my junior year of college. Both of those places I've only just stayed at temporarily for visits or during the summer.

This whole growing up thing is so sad sometimes! I'm still in real denial about calling myself an adult with a real job.
