Everclear probably gets really tired of getting requests for "Santa Monica," the 90's hit that made them famous. But can you blame us fans? It is a GREAT song. I liked it when I was 15 and still now 10 years later, it is one of my favorite "car songs" and one of the first ones I added to my iPod.
The US naval air facility at Atsugi gave a free outdoor concert this holiday Friday with Everclear headlining. There is something about Northwest alternative rock bands. They may be very 90's and not so popular anymore, but because a) I call Seattle my US home and b) I was a teenager in Seattle from the very beginning of the grunge explosion, it is very near and dear to my heart and I still love to listen to it.
This concert reminded me of the free Nirvana concert that Miss Ai and I went to a decade ago in Seattle. How lucky was that? It still amazes me when I think about it.
Lead singer Art Alexakis mentioned a new album out next year. Looking forward to it dudes, rock on.

rock on!
wow, what a difference those megapixels make!
I still find it cool that it was so easy to be so close to the stage, what a notion to be at a concert and not viewing someone via tv monitor. :)
